PR652 Series Surface Temperature Calibrator

The PR652 Series Surface Temperature Calibrator covers a range of 50°C to 600°C, featuring excellent temperature uniformity and rapid heating/cooling. With built-in independent dual measurement channels and a reference sensor channel, it enables fully automated on‑site calibration of thermocouples, RTDs, temperature switches, and temperature transmitters with electrical output – no external devices required. Editable calibration tasks and real‑time data monitoring are supported, improving field calibration efficiency.

Overview

The PR652 Series Surface Temperature Calibrators are characterized by excellent temperature uniformity and rapid heating/cooling capabilities. Covering a broad calibration range from 50°C to 600°C, these units feature built-in, fully-functional temperature measurement channels and reference instrument channels. They support editable calibration tasks and enable fully automated on-site calibration of thermocouples, RTDs, temperature switches, and temperature transmitters with electrical output—all without requiring any external devices.

Technical Features

l Excellent Temperature Uniformity:The internal hot plate is designed with three heating zones. The two side zones compensate for heat conduction losses caused by the insertion of reference and control sensors, ensuring temperature uniformity across the entire temperature range meets testing requirements.

Note: Surface temperature uniformity is closely related to the symmetrical design of the circular metal hot plate.

To minimize the deviation between the surface temperature and the reference temperature, the side-inserted

reference sensor is positioned very close to the upper surface of the heat source. However, the introduced heat

 conduction can affect surface temperature uniformity.

l Reduced Temperature Fluctuation: The device integrates a new-generation PR2601 temperature controller with strategy optimization tailored for surface temperature control characteristics. This significantly reduces temperature stabilization wait time and improves temperature fluctuation during steady state. The surface temperature fluctuation of the PR652 series is better than 0.6°C/10min across the entire temperature range.

l Faster Ramp Rates: During full-power heating, the system automatically switches to dual-heater mode, effectively compensating for heating lag caused by heat loss from the hot plate. Simultaneously, the integrated air-cooling structure above the hot plate significantly increases the cooling rate of the surface temperature source during cooling, further enhancing calibration efficiency.

l Internal Thermal Isolation Design: The PR650 series adopts an integrated design with a unique internal thermal insulation structure. This greatly reduces the impact of heat conduction from the hot plate on adjacent components. Even when the surface temperature operates continuously at 400°C, areas surrounding the hot plate remain near ambient temperature.

Note: Typically, surface temperature sources can cause a sharp internal temperature rise due to heat conduction during high-temperature operation, affecting other components. Therefore, many similar products use a split design, which increases operational complexity and reduces system  reliability.

l Independent Dual-Channel Measurement: Channel 1: Offers full-function measurement capability. It connects to various devices under test (DUTs) such as RTDs, thermocouples, temperature transmitters, and temperature switches via the terminal area on the left side of the screen and includes an integrated 24V power supply. Channel 2: Dedicated to connecting the standard reference temperature sensor. This sensor uses a wire-wound platinum resistor, offering excellent long-term stability and dynamic response characteristics.

l Temperature Control Mode & Task Mode: These two modules can be switched with one click. Temperature Control Mode: Users can view all real-time parameters related to temperature control, such as control curves and fluctuation. Task Mode: Used for fully automatic calibration across multiple temperature points. Users can set key process parameters including DUT type, calibration temperature points, ramp rates, up/down cycles, and stability criteria. Real-time data can be monitored during auto-calibration, and calibration results are provided upon task completion.
